“But it does not seem that I can trust anyone,' said Frodo.
Sam looked at him unhappily. 'It all depends on what you want,' put in Merry. 'You can trust us to stick with you through thick and thin--to the bitter end. And you can trust us to keep any secret of yours--closer than you keep it yourself. But you cannot trust us to let you face trouble alone, and go off without a word. We are your friends, Frodo.” (Tolkien 137-138)
“The road must be trod, but it will be very hard. And neither strength nor wisdom will carry us far upon it. This quest may be attempted by the weak with as much hope as the strong. Yet it is oft the course of deeds that move the wheels of the world: Small hands do them because they must, while the eyes of the great are elsewhere.” (Tolkien 351)

Testimonial
Anyone who reads books, watches movies, or is really involved in any sort of literature at all has definitely heard about J.R.R. Tolkien's famous work, The Lord of the Rings. It's a work which is famous across the world, even today, decades after the books within it were written. This trilogy really speaks for itself through the reputation and following it has built up throughout the years since it was published, and it could do just fine with no introduction. All the same, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring was an absolutely amazing book to read. Throughout the entire book, I was captivated with the story and every detail within it, and how well Tolkien is able to immerse you in such a convincing universe. The most impactful thing about the book, in my opinion, is the rich, deep lore that surrounds Middle Earth and everyone within it. For every race, even the smallest, there is more than a few pages of reading and studying to do before you understand the origins and history behind its people. As a result of this, Middle Earth seems to come alive and open up before you as you're reading. It doesn't feel anything like a boring book which barely delves beyond the surface, sometimes feeling like the story is pushing you in one direction and not paying attention to anything else. Instead, reading this book gives you a feeling of a vast, ancient world, with more to read about than you could ever even comprehend. Even on the smaller scale, detail is never forgotten. The book is speckled with unique, creative songs and poems that are expertly crafted, resembling something that might take the average person weeks to even begin writing. For me personally, it's this attention to detail that attracts me to the book. Feeling like there's more to the story than just what I'm reading on the page makes for an amazing reading experience, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend this book, and the others from the trilogy, to absolutely anyone who enjoys a deeper level of literature, lore, and creativity. I definitely have to give this book five out of five stars!
